Waves

Writer: Sonja McGiboneySonja McGiboney

Waves

A little boy

Brown eyes peeking from behind his mother

Shyly wiggles his fingers, barely moving them at all

His new teacher waves back

A proud woman

Enthroned atop a floating, flower filled trailer

Precisely, with perfect timing, waves left, then right

The crowds cheer

A crying family

Desperately hugging, keeping close

Hands frozen in the air, palms outward

A soldier gets on the plane

People Jumping

A field full of whirling arms

Hands pointed to the sky, light trails following

The concert begins
