For fun, I will post a "first paragraph" on my blog every Wednesday. If you feel the creative juices flow, then add another paragraph. If you feel the stirrings of a story, then go for it. (But let me know so I can read it.) You have my permission to use anything I write in Story Starter Wednesday for your story.
Here goes!
Stella didn't mean to do it. She hadn't finished wrapping Bob's birthday present when she heard the door rattle. It didn't cross her mind to wonder why he was coming home at lunchtime. She picked up the gift and ran to the closet to hide it. Then someone giggled. It wasn't Bob. She darted into the closet with the present and closed the door leaving a small crack. That's when she saw her. Her blood boiled. She closed her eyes trying to keep from bolting out the door and when she opened them, she saw the gun safe. Bob never locked it, the kids were gone, why bother? She pulled out the revolver and checked the chamber. Stupid. One should never leave a round in the chamber. She cocked the gun and pointed it through the crack in the door.
